Energi Hosts 2012 Risk Management & Insurance Summit
PEABODY, Mass. --(Business Wire)--
Energi, a leading provider of Insurance and Risk Management Programs to
the energy industry, is pleased to announce that it successfully hosted
the 2012 Energi Risk Management & Insurance Summit. The groundbreaking
Summit, which was the first of its kind, involved the networking of
policyholders and brokers during the same event. Close to 300
participants attended the Summit which took place at the Orlando World
Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida from June 3rd to June 6th.

The theme of the Summit was "The Power of Knowledge" which incorporated
Risk Mitigation & Insurance discussions along with industry related
seminars. The Summit attracted twelve sponsors and thirty expert
speakers and presenters from various sectors of the energy and insurance
industries. The program opened with Industry Trends & the Importance
of Risk Management, a discussion moderated by Jeremy Goodman,
Executive Managing Director of Aon Benfield, and joined by Ulrich
Wallin, Chairman of the Executive Board at Hannover RE, James Townsend,
CEO of Townsend Energy, and Brian McCarthy, CEO of Energi. Other
sessions included Broker Boot Camp, Safety Committe
Importance, Acquisition Risk Management, and the e-Tech Showcase
where Energi presented the first version of the Energi Smartphone
application.
One of the more popular sessions was The Future of Fracking, a
dialogue regarding the past, present and future of hydraulic fracturing,
hosted by Dave Tiedgen, Vice President of Research and Development at
Energi, Jim Bolz, VP and Chief Underwriting Officer at Energi, and
Patrick Grogan, Business Development Manager of Alternative Energy
Solutions at Energi. The presentation was then joined by Rex Moore of
the Marcellus Shale Workforce Training Center at Pennsylvania State
University.
On Tuesday June 5th, keynote speaker Keith Ferrazzi addressed
the Summit with strategies on how to become more productive and
successful by improving one's personal and professional relationships. A
copy of his best-selling book Never Eat Alone was given to each
Summit attendee.
The Summit concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the "Best
of the Best" Brokers and Policyholders. Select brokers received
the 2012 Top Producer award for their outstanding performance in the
previous year and select policyholders received the 2012 Excellence in
Risk Management award for their commitment to Claims and Safety
Management.
In the days following the summit, Jim Hickey, General Manager of Gault
Energy in Connecticut wrote, "The Summit was great. I came away with
many things to implement over the next 6 months, many right away." The
Summit was so successful that initial planning has begun for the 2013
Summit.
