BRIEF: Search campaign expenditures of Joe Moody, D-El Paso

Jan 18, 2013 (El Paso Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- State Rep. Joe Moody, D-El Paso, collected $93,956 and spent $45,822 from Oct. 28 to Dec. 31. He has $42,615 left in his campaign account.

Some of Moody's key contributions included more than $25,000 from the Trial Lawyers Association and the trial- lawyers-run Texans for Insurance Reform political action committee. The groups have given more than $88,000 in cash and in-kind donations to Moody since Nov. 2011. El Paso lawyer James Scherr also donated about $3,000 to Moody in the latest filing period for a total of $8,500 since he entered the race.

Some key expenditures included $8,500 to the Thompson Group for television advertising and $2,400 to Coyote Strategies.
