The ROE is a general indication of the company's efficiency; investors usually look for companies with ROEs that are high and are growing.Allied World Assurance ranks highest with a ROE of 22.3%. Erie Indemnity is next with a ROE of 19.2%. Alleghany ranks third highest with a ROE of 17.7%.
