Credential Financial Rings the Opening Bell of the Toronto Stock Exchange
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Feb 22, 2013 (Marketwire via COMTEX) --
Credential Financial today opened the market of the Toronto Stock Exchange in celebration of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Credential Securities, becoming a member of the TSX.
Last month, Credential Securities became a self-clearing IIROC brokerage firm. Also, with a new trade desk in Montreal, the firm now provides clients and internal stakeholders the ability to execute equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, and a number of other trading related products.
"As a TSX member, we are able to better capitalize on growth opportunities and thrive in a competitive business environment while continuing to provide excellence to our clients," said Doce Tomic, President and CEO, Credential. "The opportunity to ring the TSX bell is a fitting celebration of our 20 years in business and a period of significant growth for our company. We're now more than ever equipped to meet the needs of our clients and deliver on our vision of sustainable financial strength for all Canadians."
