Merchants Insurance Group selects Risk Control's RC Inspection software

Mar 15, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Merchants Insurance Group has selected Risk Control Technologies' RC Inspection software to streamline its loss control operations.

RC Inspection will be used by Merchants' team of in-house and vendor field loss control consultants to conduct on-site surveys. The software is being delivered to Merchants on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) basis, using cloud technologies.

William Orsborn, Loss Control Manager for Merchants, said: "When we identified the objective of enhancing our loss control operations, we scoured the market for a technology solution that would meet our needs. When we found Risk Control Technologies, we realized that their system wasn't just a basic inspection system, but an all encompassing loss control management system specifically designed for insurance companies." With the adoption of this software, Merchants' field loss control staff will be given tablet devices loaded with the software for field data collection. This will allow Merchants' colleagues to collect risk data, photos, recommendations and diagrams in the field, even in locations without mobile broadband connections. Once data is collected, it is then uploaded into a central database for underwriters to use in their underwriting decisions. This central data repository also offers data mining and reporting capabilities, which have traditionally been unavailable.
