In a press release, Maponics announced that the newly released Neighborhood Boundaries contains more than 150,000 neighborhoods worldwide.

It will be relevant to mention here that last month Maponics launched its Maponics Subdivision Boundaries. With the latest release of Neighborhood Boundaries, Maponics’ combined databases of neighborhoods and real estate subdivisions have grown to more than 300,000. No other company even comes close to this quantity of high-quality data that represents where people live, work and play, the company stated, the company claimed in the release.

Maponics announced that Neighborhood Boundaries and Subdivision Boundaries are each available to license in numerous GIS data formats. Neighborhood Boundaries are also available through the Maponics Spatial API for mashups or other online use.

Top real estate portals rely on Maponics data to improve search capabilities, perform trend analysis, and deliver advanced mapping applications, the company claimed.

Maponics data is also used by local search and location-based information sites like HelloMetro, TripAdvisor and Airbnb, who enhance search results with the intuitive geography of Maponics Neighborhoods.

Maponics data is also used by Twitter, Yellowbook and Deals by Citysearch (News - Alert), who utilize Maponics Neighborhood for providing real-time, location-based advertising and promotion through mobile applications.

Last month, Maponics announced that DataSphere Technologies, a provider of hyper-local web technology and sales solutions for media companies, will use Neighborhood Boundary data from Maponics to enhance the next version of its local events calendar product.
