Norwalk, CT – September 7, 2011TMC (News - Alert) and Crossfire Media today announced that Global Services Insurance Solutions’ (GSIS) President & CEO Glenn Stebbings will discuss how M2M-based asset tracking technologies are bringing about a fundamental change in the insurance industry by helping manufacturers, food producers, shippers and logistics providers minimize loss in the supply chain, reduce claims, and lower their insurance premiums in the process.

“According to the US Department of Justice, cargo theft on our nation’s highways accounts for more than $30 billion in lost assets each year. As a result, insurance premiums are on the rise, increasing the costs that retailers charge -- and consumers pay -- for anything transported through the supply chain,” said GSIS’ Glenn Stebbings. “In response to these trends, we’re introducing a new logistics management program that combines asset tracking technology with proactive recovery services, tailored insurance coverage and risk management consulting services, to help companies reduce loss in the supply chain, minimize their claims, and lower the costs of their insurance premiums.”

This session, which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13th at 1:30 PM, examines how the insurance industry is partnering with M2M technology providers to increase visibility in the supply chain and eliminate coverage gaps between manufacturers, shippers, and third-party logistics providers. Glenn Stebbings will also examine how technology helps shippers broaden their cargo coverage with less exclusions and warranties, and he will identify financial exposures beyond loss of cargo that shippers should be aware of.

“This session clearly articulates the ROI model associated with M2M technologies and it’s going to be one of the most valuable sessions for shippers, third-party logistics providers, food and pharmaceutical producers and manufacturers of high-value merchandise,” said M2M Evolution Conference Chair Nikki Cuban, of OnAsset Intelligence. “M2M-based asset tracking technologies are clearly proving their value in reducing theft, and minimizing spoilage in the supply chain – which minimizes claims, and lowers insurance costs for shippers. We’re glad that Glenn is joining us in Austin to share this story first-hand.”

Additional information on the M2M Evolution Conference is available online, and Registration for both M2M Evolution and ITEXPO remains open.  Members of the media can reserve media credentials by contacting Todd Keefe at For Immediate Release PR.
