Canadian Insurance Company Joins Forces with Guidewire

The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company has selected the BillingCenter Solution from Guidewire as its new platform for both director and broker billing. According to Dominion’s senior vice president of Business Solutions, Steve Whitelaw, the solution opens the door to better customer service by allowing customers to choose how they want to interact with the company.

“The Dominion looks to empower brokers and policyholders as much as possible,” Whitelaw commented. “BillingCenter will allow us to offer options to our policyholders; options that suit how they prefer to interact with us whether through their broker, online or via smartphone.”

BillingCenter helps Dominion by integrating with other business systems in one cohesive framework. Dominion said that it chose BillingCenter based on the system’s flexibility and scalability. The system automates the billing lifecycle by designing flexible billing, payment and delinquency plans. Also, the system manages agent commissions and enables rapid integration with external payment systems.

In addition, Dominion utilizes ClaimCenter, which allows them to optimize claims handling and to improve service to both policy holders and brokers. ClaimCenter, according to Dominion, allows them to capture richer data, enhance claims efficiencies and control costs. ClaimCenter also delivers an intuitive and flexible interface that allows Dominion to adjust claims more quickly and more consistently, enhancing adjuster satisfaction. The web-based system is easy to configure and will accommodate changing business needs.
