Link Healthcare Plans and Health Expenses Simply with Simplee

October 02, 2012

Managing medical bills is more often than not a harrowing experience, and given the fact that physically stressed out patients are in no frame of mind to tackle insurance claims and medical bills, healthcare expense management experts at Simplee and El Camino Hospital have partnered to improve the patient experience.

"We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to help our patients manage their healthcare," said Michael King, chief financial officer at El Camino Hospital.

Together, they have launched what is touted to be the nation's first completely integrated medical bill and explanation of benefits (EOB) reconciliation system, which will instantly match a patient's El Camino Hospital bill with the relevant insurer to resolve charges, explain claims, scan for possible claim errors, and pay bills online.

"Simplee allows our patients to automatically reconcile statements from El Camino Hospital and their insurers online and in real-time to make the billing and payment process simple, seamless and straightforward," added King.

The partnership guarantees to make patients' lives easier by saving them the time, money and stress historically associated with managing medical bills, said officials and also eliminates the need to compare physical statements from multiple providers and insurers before a final settlement is made.

In addition, El Camino Hospital patients can also track, review and pay medical claims and bills from all of their insurance related providers, noted officials.

El Camino Hospital is expected to encourage its patients to sign up for the Simplee service to better manage their financial health plan benefits and bills. Members will have the advantage of medical support notifications from Simplee regarding medical billing, errors, deductibles and more.

Simplee claims it has helped members manage nearly half a billion dollars in medical expenses across hundreds of thousands of medical providers. However, if patients choose to pay their hospital bills online and not sign-up for the full Simplee service, Simplee is also offering an online bill pay option.

Simplee unveiled the first completely automated error detection system for medical bills as part of its mission to help consumers reduce the cost and hassle of healthcare, while maximizing their health plan benefits.
