GEICO Attracts iPad Users with New, Redesigned App

GEICO, reportedly the third-largest private passenger auto insurer in the United States, has always focused on enhancing the customer and mobile experience for its policy holders with the addition of newer and advanced features.

To that end, it has redesigned the GEICO app for iPad with new features and helpful tools that add particular convenience and enhance the visual experience, according to company officials.

According to Steve Smith, assistant vice president for information technology at GEICO, “iPad users are more likely to spend an increased amount of time perusing a site than with any other mobile device.”

With GEICO going mobile, it made perfect business sense to include features that iPad users would find useful. Hence, the new app allows for quicker access to onscreen information with smoother interaction.

Using the swipe and explore feature, iPad users can access having how-to guides and videos , auto services locator tools, and can also find great, useful extras like Roadside Help. They will also get to see their policy information in a new, stimulating, visual format.

Policy payments can also be made using one-touch pay. Customers are now more informed and involved with the GEICO app's self-service features, which allows them to easily and quickly gain access to policy documents and auto claim information.

They can upload photos of insured vehicles and drivers, and view digital ID cards policy details as well.

As a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies, GEICO is rated A++ for financial strength by A.M. Best Company, and ranks at the top of several national customer satisfaction surveys.

GEICO will sponsor free nights of family activities at the National Children’s Museum, at National Harbor in Prince George's County, MD. The company has pledged $500,000 over five years for GEICO Free Family Nights, which will offer area children and their families free access to a multitude of activities at the National Children's Museum for one evening each month.

The first GEICO Free Family Night will take place on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.
