A global leader in insurance coverage, Zurich Insurance Group has taken steps to strengthen itself in its field.
Among the moves that the company has decided to make is tapping Pegasystem’s software in order to beef up Zurich’s commercial underwriting processes. Pegasystems (News - Alert) is one of the most respected in this line of work, and one of the reasons the company has gained such a prominent role as the go to firm for jobs like this is the heady leadership the company has in place.
While underwriting processes are just some of the things Pegasystems can handle without a problem, the company has its fingers in a lot of different pies. Most recently, Pegasystems made news with the announcement that it would be offering upgraded ERP solutions, allowing work on SAP (News - Alert) applications along with new work automation and user experience features.
Zurich, however, is far more focused on making sure the underwriting process the company has to go through will be simpler to understand for everyone.
"We aim to reduce the complexity of the work environment for our employees, which will result in us being able to better serve our customers," Sepp Ruchti, project leader, Business Transformation, Zurich Switzerland, said in a statement announcing the partnership with Pegasystems. "Automation of this kind will help us to become more efficient.”
The company’s commercial underwriting process is an intricate one that includes both the broker and an agent channel. The process also spans several different products including new business as well as returning businesses.
Zurich says that by tailoring the way the system will be automated to better serve the employees, it’ll serve their very specific needs, while offering solutions they may not have known they needed.
