ICICI Lombard's Mobile App Makes Claims Intimation Easier

February 14, 2013

ICICI Lombard, a market icon in the motor insurance segment, is also India’s largest private sector general insurance company. It has many awards to its credit and has been rated highest in customer satisfaction by J.D. Power Asia Pacific in India among 11 auto insurance providers.

The firm’s resume is a testament to its commitment to delivering ample benefits and conveniences to its customers.

The insurance company has worked hard to facilitate online policy issuance and renewal through its website, allowing vehicle owners to buy or renew a policy anytime from anywhere, and has taken this a step further by allowing claims to be intimated through its mobile app, “Insure.”

“We are delighted to have introduced this unique end to end app for our motor insurance customers. This app will empower our customers to intimate a motor insurance claim anytime and from anywhere,” noted N. Eswarnatarajan, chief of Operations and Technology at ICICI Lombard General Insurance.

Insure has been developed in-house by the ICICI Lombard IT team, and is expected to be available to Android (News - Alert) and iOS users as well.

Using the downloaded app on their mobile devices, customers making a claim just need to take a photograph of the damaged vehicle and through voice recording within the app communicate to the insurance company how the accident or damage to the vehicle happened.

The claim intimation can also be sent from the app itself.

What this means for customers is that they can save precious time and get help at the accident spot itself by locating the nearest approved motor garage, hospital or ICICI Lombard branch – all using the mobile app.

Geo-tagging software embedded in the app makes this possible.

“We are sure that the app will add to our customer service standards and offer convenience to our large base of customers,” added Eswarnatarajan.

Individuals therefore use the mobile app to get details on various insurance policies, set reminders to renew them and connect with the 24-hour call center directly for information or answers to their queries.

ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd., a joint venture between ICICI Bank Limited and Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, was awarded the prestigious Porter prize in the category 'Creating Shared Value.' The award recognizes ICICI Lombard's efforts in achieving responsible economic success in the area of mass and micro insurance for the economically weaker sections of the community.
