StoneRiver Unveils New Version of Life Portraits Solution with Enhancements

While insurers are still working to upgrade their technology environments, the demand for feature-rich insurance sales and marketing tools is on the rise.

In an effort to provide such a tool and to augment the user experience while delivering a high degree of end-user configurability, StoneRiver, Inc., a California-based provider of strategic core operational solutions for the insurance industry, has announced a new version of its Life Portraits point-of-sale solution with enhancements.


Targeted at streamlining the life, annuity, and health insurance sale-to-issue process, the latest version of Life Portraits is now incorporated with a functionally rich and enhanced user interface (UI).

Designed for use across multiple distribution channels, the Life Portraits solution is a point-of-sale, regulatory-compliant illustration and needs-analysis system.

When coupled with StoneRiver’s electronic application and LifeSuite Automated Underwriting System, the Life Portraits suite facilitates a complete sale-to-issue functionality by offering sales support, application capture and submission, requirements gathering, and underwriting.

According to StoneRiver, its Life Portraits insurance sales and marketing tool consists of modules that create a customized marketing suite that fits well while providing access anywhere at any time. It not only strengthens relationships, but also accelerates the sales process while ensuring compliance.

With the objective of helping insurers overcome today's challenges and enabling them to be well positioned for a prosperous future, StoneRiver has incorporated a new user interface, support for multiple browsers and mobile devices, and seamless integration with LifeApply e-Application, for a rich customer experience.

Some of the other key capabilities offered with the enhanced product include: enhanced 'Quick Entry' to run a fast proposal and transfer inputs to a full illustration; a user configurable Rules Engine; a choice of calculation engines to meet each carrier's specific product portfolio needs; cross browser support; and more.

The latest version of Life Portraits is available to all new clients as well as the existing 40+ Life Portraits carrier clients. It can either be installed on premises or be deployed as a hosted solution.

“With over 70 carriers in production on our Life Products, we have learned a great deal by listening to our customers,” said Dennis Pfiffner, vice president of product services at StoneRiver. “Carriers are always looking for new and modern solutions, but they also want to be sure they are choosing a solution that can stand the test of time.”

Pfiffner added, “We believe StoneRiver has been able to deliver on both counts with Life Portraits being a proven and well received product in the market, but with a new technology architecture that enables us to continue to expand and enhance to deliver the modern functionality and high quality user experience that carriers, distribution channels, and insurance buyers are expecting and demanding."

In recent news, StoneRiver had announced the immediate availability of CompSuite Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) solution, which is designed for workers' compensation.
