Tata Consultancy Services (News - Alert) (TCS) announced the launch of the upgraded version of its flagship TCS Digital Insurance Agent Solution. The advanced solution empowers insurance agents using Android (News - Alert) devices to access information and customer service solutions while on the go. The application will leverage a handheld device’s native features, such as voice recorder, camera and location details, to enable insurance agents to conduct business on a real-time basis. The TCS Digital Insurance Agent Solution supports lead management, providing estimates, projecting sales, measuring sales results and demonstrating product capabilities.
Suresh Muthuswami, president of insurance and healthcare at TCS, said: “The evolution of the TCS Digital Insurance Agent Solution is a perfect example of how TCS is constantly investing in harnessing new technology to bring innovation to the insurance industry. We see this tool as a real game-changer that will transform the way agents do their jobs while delivering a great customer experience.”
The enhanced version of TCS Digital Insurance Agent Solution will be available as a native app for iPad and as a hybrid app for Android-enabled devices. The hybrid version features multi-language support, improved encryption for storing device data and seamless portability from mobile app to a desktop or laptop computer.
Speaking of the new release, Karlyn Carnahan, principal at Novarica, said, “A recent Novarica survey revealed that 60 percent of insurers will add new mobile capabilities for policyholders and agents in 2013. Agents are seeking tools that improve interaction effectiveness from presentation to generating illustrations to completing applications. Mobile applications are an effective business tool and communication channel to streamline an agent's job by creating efficiencies, improving customer interactions, and allowing agents to conduct business from any location.”
The new release is the latest innovation from TCS’s Insurance Innovation Lab, which also released TCS Insurance QuickPass earlier this year. TCS Insurance QuickPass enables insured individuals to carry the digital version of their insurance policy – card and policy details – on their smartphones for anywhere access to the data.
Tata Consultancy Services provides IT services, consultancy and business solutions. The company’s integrated suite of services encompass IT/ITES, BPO, engineering, infrastructure and assurance through its proprietary Global Network Delivery Model framework, which is considered as the benchmark for measuring excellence in the field of software development and related services.
