ADT Corporation, a provider of electronic security, interactive home and business automation and monitoring services for residences and small businesses in the United States and Canada, has joined forces with State Farm to help its customers better manage and control their homes.
State Farm and its affiliates are the largest provider of car insurance in the U.S. and is a leading insurer in Canada.
As part of the pact, special offers like a free in-home security consultation, 24/7 professional monitoring by trained ADT security specialists and custom installation with a six-month money-back guarantee, will be provided by ADT on its ADT Pulse (News - Alert) home security and automation solution to State Farm customers, who may also qualify for home insurance discounts.
“The average insurance claim for a home burglary or fire can cost thousands of dollars,” said Don Boerema, chief corporate development officer at ADT, in a statement.
Boerema said that through home automation capabilities and enhanced security features, ADT Pulse is the ideal solution to help State Farm customers connect to their families and homes to mitigate loss.
“As the leading provider of homeowners insurance in North America, State Farm has a keen interest in helping customers prevent loss,” said Jack Weekes, operations vice president at State Farm.
Weekes said that by teaming up with ADT and other home control and monitoring providers, State Farm is helping customers protect their family and property in today’s high tech world.
Earlier in January, ADT and IDEAL LIFE had announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership to offer new and existing ADT customers real time health management services.
ADT will integrate the IDEAL LIFE health monitoring and information technology into its interactive home management system, ADT Pulse.
ADT Pulse currently allows customers to remotely arm and disarm their security systems; access real time video of their premises; receive notifications and alerts; lock and unlock doors; and manage their energy consumption by controlling thermostats, small appliances and lights, all from their smartphones, tablets and computers.
The capability for customers, as well as their caregivers and trusted medical providers, to monitor and track health and wellness in real time will substantially differentiate ADT from other home automation and security providers.
