The property and casualty insurance industry is definitely poised for sustained growth, but will face challenges and will have to take a proactive approach as part of their business operating procedure.

Capital Insurance Group (CIG) is a regional property and casualty insurer serving the Western United States. The company is all set to invest in the modernization and streamlining of its core systems to position itself better in the industry. Towards this it was in need of a web distribution solution that would help the company to draw more business quickly and efficiently for their agents, internal underwriters and policy clients.

To achieve this, the company has signed a partnership agreement with Agencyport Software, a provider of software and services to the global insurance and reinsurance industries.

“A world class, independent front end like AgencyPortal will allow us to differentiate from our competitors, drive speed to market and provide greater automation support for both consumer and agent constituencies—all amidst backend replacement,” said Walt Bennett, vice president of Underwriting, CIG.

CIG has chosen the vendor’s AgencyPortal web-based distribution platform, Turnstile form automation service, as well as Connect5 routing and orchestration platform, to create a differentiating online point of sale experience for the carrier. Leveraging a flexible front end to improve the ease of doing business will allow CIG to get to its business goals quickly.

“The P&C industry is at an inflection point,” said Curt Stevenson, Senior Vice President of Customer Service at Agencyport.

“Companies are striving to make it easy for their distribution partners to write more profitable business while maintaining operational excellence. We’re delighted to partner with CIG—one of a growing number of carriers leveraging our software to realize short-term benefits as part of a longer-term modernization strategy,” Stevenson added.
