Zia Consulting Updates Insurance Document Automation Solution

September 28, 2015

Zia Consulting, a provider of enterprise content management and document capture solutions, recently announced the latest version of its Accelerate for Insurance: Document Automation solution.

“We focus on solutions that allow users continue with existing tools, like Outlook, SharePoint, or other applications to ensure increased adoption, and then automate the business processes associated with these tasks,” Zia Consulting SVP Phil Robinson said.

Zia is targeting the solution to the life insurance, property, casualty and reinsurance providers.

Insurance companies have complicated workflows, with forms varying from state to state, such as application forms, HIPAA authorizations and information from doctors. The various documents that make up an insurance application differ wildly in their structure.

At the same time, insurance providers want a central place to manage their documents without having files scattered across agents’ computers and possibly falling into the wrong hands. To that end, Zia has partnered with security software provider Covertix. The combined solution allows companies to set rules on who can view which documents both inside and outside the organization.

Accelerate can read documents from Outlook and automatically store them. It can extract information such as names and Social Security numbers and apply them to the right policyholder. Documents flow from sources to a “content hub,” where they are automatically stored and classified. In addition, the package can detect whether a document is an application or a HIPAA form and file it accordingly.

While Zia’s product works primarily through Outlook, it can also ingest documents from SharePoint, Dropbox (News - Alert), USBs and other file shares. The security features should make using all of these services a bit safer. This integration reflects the new realities in IT, where even insurance agencies are using cloud services even though they might not be under the control of the organization.

In addition, the latest version of Accelerate for Insurance includes Ephesoft Universe, which allows customers to use Big Data and process unstructured documents.
