Medical Protections Society Adopts Sapiens IDIT Suite

November 18, 2015

The Medical Protection Society (MPS) provides advice and consultation to doctors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals so those individuals can deal with legal and ethical issues that apply to the workplace. As a non-profit, it serves more than 300,000 members; therefore, it has a heavy burden in keeping up with all the changes in membership it experiences. The organization recently joined forces with Sapiens, a global provider of insurance software, to streamline its membership system.

MPS has now adopted the Sapiens IDIT software suite to handle its membership. This suite can integrate with other third-party software that MPS might use, and it provides, as a membership system, improved visibility into the entire database of members. Although MPS says it does not consider itself an insurance company, it provides advice about how to deal with sensitive workplace issues which may find themselves attached to some form of medical insurance. IDIT can help smooth that process of dealing with members’ claims.

Dan Bown, the executive director of operations at MPS, commented on the process of selecting Sapiens as its newest membership system.

“Our selection of Sapiens was based not only on the quality of the IDIT offering, but also on the reputation of the Sapiens team and their delivery track record,” Bown said. “During the evaluation effort we spent a good deal of time with a number of Sapiens’ clients in the UK to learn about their experiences, which reaffirmed our positive impression of the company. Sapiens IDIT meets our current needs, while also providing us with a solution for the future.”

The latest upgrade to the IDIT suite arrived only this past January. It has reached version 12.1 and, in the upgrade, inserted a new manager dashboard for greater workload and task visibility, improved access to claims reservations and product plans, changes to its payment processing tools, and the addition of connectivity to Microsoft (News - Alert) Word, for document creation within the Sapiens suite itself.

Those upgrades should positively impact the way MPS handles it memberships, at the very least, by giving it the flexibility to handle membership initiation and changes. MPS employees will have the ability to create Word documents as necessary, and they should find the workload and task visibility tools able to make handling claims much easier. MPS said it expects to reduce its operations costs and improve the overall efficiency of its organization. The latest improvements to IDIT can make those expectations a reality.
