Finding a way to make insurance verification quick and easy has long been the goal of more than one company in the industry. eRad, which is a leading provider of standards-based and web-centric radiology image and data management solutions announced it believes it has found the way to pull off this process quickly. In order to do this, the company has announced that Elite Imaging has implemented the eRAD Insurance Eligibility and Verification module as a bigger part of a strategy that will streamline both clinical and business workflow.
Elite Imaging has 15 imaging centers across the state of Florida and the company runs more than 250,000 studies every year. With that amount of needed insurance verification orders, the company has been looking for a way to get through its workload as quickly as possible. “We used two methods previously, which involved multiple websites. eRAD streamlined that process tremendously,” said Laura Kassa, Director of Operations at Elite Imaging in a recent release announcing the new partnership. “In South Florida, we had 12 people dedicated to insurance verification for the region. We now have three. Before, the front desk staff each needed to have their own login to each one of those websites in order to verify insurance, plus an understanding of the rules of each plan and how to verify the insurance.”
eRAD offers a platform that has one login for everything the user needs. This means that people who are using the solution will be able to find out quickly and easily whether or not a patient has health insurance coverage. Even better than that is the fact the solution will actually be able to tell the company what kind of coverage the patient has. The solution also details the deductible as well as whether that deductible was met and the co-pay needed. This saves valuable time during the verification process and that also means the companies using this solution will be able to save money, in a kind of savings that can be passed onto the consumer.
