Shaw Joins NIIT Tech as Senior VP, Practice Leader

IT outsourcing company NIIT Technologies (News - Alert) recently announced that David Shaw
has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Practice Leader for North American Insurance Vertical.
Lalit Dhingra, President of North America, NIIT Technologies, noted that Shaw has decades of experience working in the insurance sector, 'and his knowledge and expertise will make significant contributions to our service offerings.'
Shaw will be based out of NIIT Technologies' U.S. headquarters in Atlanta. He has over 25 years of experience in consulting and managing IT businesses for large insurance organizations.
Shaw recently worked as CIO for Retail Life, Employee Benefits, Group Reinsurance, Enterprise Distribution applications and BPO activities within ING US operations. Prior to this he was Chief Technology Officer for ING, responsible for IT strategic planning and enterprise technology delivery.
Towards the end of January TMC (News - Alert) had the news that NIIT Technologies delivered a new online chat service portal to customers of a European high street retailer.
'Some of NIIT Technologies' clients have obtained up to a 73 percent 'cost saving' benefit in addition to a 300 percent increase in the volume of business transactions while only having to increase the number of staff by an average of 60 percent,' according to company officials.
The company also reported providing F&A services to a UK-based, low-cost airline. The outsourcing arrangement, which is currently in its fifth year, has enhanced the airline company's capacity to deliver an effective pricing model to customers during the current tough economic conditions.
Ravi Pandey, Senior Vice President and UK Head of NIIT Technologies, said 'We find that flexibility in a pricing model is key to making a successful relationship. To ensure that the pricing remains correct it is essential to track performance and productivity on an ongoing basis so that any corrections can be mutually agreed.'
