The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, an auto insurance company and reseller of motorcycle policies, launched a free Android (News - Alert) app specifically for car insurance.
Progressive also has an Apple iPhone app and a mobile Web site. Progressive app is available free from Marketplaces on Android devices.
The company is offering innovative products and services that meet drivers’ needs throughout their lifetimes, company officials said. It provides 24 hours claims service such as its concierge level of claims service available at service centers located in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States.
“We’ve seen a 30 percent increase in visits to our mobile Web site by Android users over the past four months,” said Matt Lehman, Progressive’s Web experience director. “Our Android app is designed to simplify the mobile experience for this fast-growing group of customers.”
Progressive is the first car insurance company in the U.S to start an Android app specifically for car insurance. The company is trying to provide its customers more easier and convenient way to get insurance from their mobiles itself. This facility gives customers more satisfaction while it provides the company with an opportunity to maximize its insurance sales.
With the free Android app, users can get car insurance quotes and buy a policy instantly from their mobile. Customers can make payments and can get updated policy information directly.
Users can get directions to local independent insurance agents. It provides directions to the closest service centers, where customers receive Progressive’s concierge level of claims service.
Research crash test results and recall notices can be delivered through mobile which reduce the time and cost.
Comparison of relativecosts to insure different types of cars enables customers to get a clear picture of what type of car is more economical to them. Reports and track claims is available in the mobile which is helpful for agents for making prompt decisions.
Latest Progressive TV commercials can be seen on mobiles which help customers get better knowledge of the new products and new polices of the company.
In early March Progressive announced the launch of its social responsibility Web site called “Progressive Together,” accessible at www.progressive.com/socialresponsibility.
