Harleysville Insurance, a super-regional provider of insurance products and services for small and mid-size businesses and individuals, has been recognized by CIO magazine, a trade publication of the technology industry, and ACORD - the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development -- for its achievements in technology.
CIO magazine named Harleysville to its " CIO 100," a yearly list honoring the 100 organizations in a particular year that have created the greatest business value through the use of IT. These are the organizations that CIO feels exemplify the top level of IT strategic and operational excellence.
For its part, ACORD included Harleysville in its list of seven insurance companies winning the " Property Casualty Round Trip of Data Award," an award in recognition of automation of the life-cycle of data that utilizes ACORD forms and standards, and which includes encouragement of its agents to use real-time rating/submission, endorsement processing, and policy download.
Michael L. Browne, president and CEO of Harleysville Insurance, said that the company's goal was to leverage technology to ease the way for their agency partners to work with them-and these partners have told the company that these improvements have indeed managed to ease how they work with them. He added that the honors from CIO magazine and ACORD validate the methods Harleysville has taken to implement cutting-edge technology that will serve its agents, policyholders and employees best.
"We're pleased that we continue to be recognized for the efforts of our talented professionals," noted Akhil Tripathi, senior vice president and chief information officer. "It is a great honor for Harleysville's IT team to be included among the best in delivering value to the business."
